Echor chingri or Raw Jackfruit Curry with prawn is a traditional Bengali dish that can be served with steamed rice,rotis or luchi/ parathas. It is a really interesting dish .
Ingredients:
1. Raw jack fruit(Echor)-500g
2. Prawns(small) -100g
3. Potatoes-1 big
4.Onion-1 medium sliced+1 medium paste
5. Tomato- 1 medium (chopped)
6.Ginger paste- 2tsp
7. Garlic paste- 2tsp
8. Ghee- 1/2tsp
9. Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder- 1tsp
10. Red chilli powder- 1tsp
11. Garam Masala -1/2tsp
12. Turmeric powder- 1tsp
13. Cumin Powder-1/2 tsp
14. Sour Curd- 2tbsp
15. Mustard Oil - 4tbsp
16. Sugar- 1tsp(optional)
17. Salt- 1tsp+ for frying potatoes (as required)
For tempering
1. Whole Red Chillies-1pc
2. Bay leaves-1pc
3. Cloves- 2 pcs
4. Cardamom- 2 pcs
5. Cinnamon- 1 small pc
6. Ghee- 1/2tsp
